Feeling overwhelmed by AP Chemistry? Confused in class and lost with homework? Chem Help ASAP is here for you with expert instruction!

  1. Prepare! Be PROACTIVE with your learning!
The key to reducing stress is mastering concepts, but that’s easier said than done. Chem Help ASAP helps by teaching material before it’s covered in class. This proactive approach boosts performance, confidence, and enjoyment in learning.
  2. Use Expert Instruction!
Karin, a seasoned instructor with a Master’s in Chemistry from UC Berkeley and over a decade of teaching at Davidson College, is here to share her expertise and help you excel in college-level chemistry, especially if you’re on a pre-med track.
  3. Master to Concepts with Practice!
Guided practice is key to the Mastery Class. While students must eventually solve problems on their own, this becomes easier after practicing with an experienced instructor. Watching a teacher is simple, but solving problems independently is harder. The Mastery Class teaches concepts and helps students work through problems, closing any knowledge gaps.

Class Schedule

The class meets twice a week for one-hour sessions, where I introduce new topics before they’re covered in your regular coursework. This proactive approach keeps students ahead in their learning throughout the year. By arriving to class with prior knowledge, you’ll not only enhance your understanding but also get more out of your regular lessons. Over time, I’ve found that students who engage with material in advance tend to grasp it more deeply, ask more thoughtful questions, and retain the information more effectively.

What happens if my teacher skips a topic or teaches the AP units out of order?

While the College Board recommends a specific unit outline, teachers often skip or rearrange topics. However, in this class, we will strictly follow the College Board’s unit structure. This makes attending office hours essential, where you can ask questions on any topic. To further support your learning, I will provide video content and practice problems aligned with your AP class material.

This approach offers two major benefits. First, when your teacher eventually covers a previously skipped topic, you’ll already be well-prepared thanks to the Mastery Class. Second, some skipped topics may never be revisited, leaving students unprepared for the AP exam. In the Mastery Class, we thoroughly cover and practice all topics, ensuring no gaps in your knowledge and reducing the chance of missing questions on the exam.

What are Office Hours?

Office hours provide a dedicated space for students to ask questions related to their specific class. Many students use this time to prepare for tests, work on lab reports, or seek help with homework. It’s also an ideal opportunity for those who have joined the class late to catch up on topics where they need additional support.

Class meets twice a week, Tuesday/Thursday at 7:30 pm EDT. Office hours are the first and third Wednesday of the month at 8:30 pm EDT.
